Cheesesteak Flatbread

Ingredients

1 pizza or flatbread dough

1 top sirloin steak

1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced

1/2 sweet onion, thinley sliced

2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

1/2 cup Italian blend shredded cheese

1/2 cup shredded mozzarella

1/4 – 1/2 cup pizza sauce

1 tbsp AP flour, reserved

Salt and pepper to taste

Method

Preheat the oven to 425 degrees. Preheat a cast iron skillet over med high flame.

Meanwhile season the top sirloin steak with salt and pepper on both sides. Sear the steak on both sides in the hot cast iron skillet until golden brown, about 4 minutes per side. Once seared, set aside and allow the steak to rest. Deglaze the pan with the Worcestershire sauce and turn off the flame. Thinly slice the steak into strips and add back to the pan. Toss to coat the steak in the sauce. Set aside.

Roll the dough out on a baking mat using the AP flour as needed to keep the dough from sticking until it is as thin or thick as you prefer. Place the dough on a pizza pan and top with sauce, cheese, sliced steak, peppers, and onions. Transfer to the oven and bake 25 – 30 minutes, or until dough is crisp and cheese is golden. Remove from the oven and rest at least 5 min before slicing.
